In the third Twenty20 International at the Barsapara Cricket Stadium in Guwahati, India amassed 222/3 against Australia.
For the third T20I in a row, the Men in Blue amassed over 200 runs, helped by a career-best century from Ruturaj Gaikwad.

In the run-fest, Jason Behrendorff of Australia gave up just 12 runs in four overs.

India recovers after faltering
India had a shaky start in Guwahati after Australia invited them to bat, in contrast to the first two Twenty20 Internationals.
Despite scoring 14 runs in the opening over, India lost Ishan Kishan and Yashasvi Jaiswal in the next two overs.
In addition to dismissing Jaiswal, Behrendrorff gave up just one run in two overs.
Redeemed, Suryakumar and Gaikwad led India to 43/2 in six overs.

Aaron Hardie’s first T20I scalp comes from SKY.
With India down to 24/2, Suryakumar and Gaikwad shared a 57-run stand. With five fours and two sixes in a 29-ball 39, the former was the aggressor. Suryakumar was dismissed by a young Aaron Hardie, giving the Indian captain his first T20I wicket.

Behrendrorff demonstrates his class once more.
Throughout the match, Behrendrorff was once again Australia’s most economical bowler. The seamer with the left arm kept spraying the ball in the area of good length.
Before coming off the field in the middle overs, Behrendrorff bowled an excellent opening spell.
In just four overs, the Australian seamer gave up just 12 runs and claimed just one wicket. His economy rate in a high-scoring encounter was 3.00.

Gaikwad hits a fifty-two-ball ton.
Gaikwad began in his customary cautious manner. But he duly penalized the subpar deliveries.
During his knock, Gaikwad’s brilliant strokes in front of the wicket were the highlight.
Before scoring 141 runs with Tilak, Gaikwad and Suryakumar shared an important stand.
Gaikwad needed 52 balls to reach his century in the last over. A 57-ball 123* (13 fours and 7 sixes) was smashed by him.

T20I ton for the first Indian player versus Australia
In men’s T20Is, Gaikwad has become the ninth Indian player to score a century. The others are Gill, Yashasvi Jaiswal, Suresh Raina, KL Rahul, Kohli, Deepak Hooda, and Rohit Sharma.
The only players with multiple T20I tons are Rahul (2), Suryakumar (3), and Rohit (4).
Notably, in the format against Australia, Gaikwad has emerged as the lone player with a ton.
