Meal for testimonials arranged at MCG
To demonstrate their support for Chappell, the Australian cricket community threw a testimonial lunch at the famous Melbourne Cricket Ground.
Ian and Trevor Chappell, his brothers and former cricket players, were also present at the function. The lunch was hosted by Eddie McGuire.
In addition, a GoFundMe campaign was established to give the cricket legend financial support.
We don’t have a lavish lifestyle: Chappell
The cricketing great acknowledged that he is not in dire need, but he also claimed that he is not living a lavish lifestyle like his peers.
“I think most people assume that because we played cricket that we are all living in the lap of luxury,” Chappell stated to News Corp.
“While I’m certainly not crying poor, we’re not reaping in the benefits that today’s players are.”
