The pitch’s journey was extensive, traveling 22,000 kilometers from Adelaide to Boynton Beach, Florida, where the grass was sown and allowed to grow under the warm Florida sun. It finally reached New York at the end of April. Since then, the pitch has been given time to adjust to the local conditions, but the results have been less than ideal. Damien Hough explained that the pitch has been allowed to grow in and adjust naturally, but this process has not been sufficient to ensure consistent performance.
Despite the best efforts of the experts, the pitch has not met the standards expected for a World Cup, causing significant issues for players and potentially jeopardizing the goal of expanding cricket’s popularity in the USA.
