Statistics show that MS Dhoni has hit 350 sixes in T20 cricket.
As the fourth Indian batsman to reach 350 sixes in T20 cricket, Chennai Super Kings (CSK) talisman MS Dhoni has made history.
In Match 62 of the IPL 2025 season at Delhi’s Arun Jaitley Stadium, he achieved the milestone with his lone maximum against the Rajasthan Royals (RR).
In the IPL, he has registered more than 250 sixes.

Dhoni Joins Elite Club of Six-Hitters

MS Dhoni has added another feather to his cap by entering the elite club of Indian batters with 350 T20 sixes. According to ESPNcricinfo, Dhoni took 404 matches and 355 innings to reach the milestone. He now joins Rohit Sharma (542), Virat Kohli (434), and Suryakumar Yadav (368) in this elite list.

So far, Dhoni has amassed 7,628 runs in T20s at an impressive average of 37.57 and a strike rate of 135.63. His tally includes 28 half-centuries.


Dhoni’s Record in the IPL

In the Indian Premier League, Dhoni has hammered 264 sixes, placing him fourth on the list of most sixes in IPL history. He trails only Chris Gayle (357), Rohit Sharma (297), and Virat Kohli (290).

Across 277 IPL matches, Dhoni has scored 5,439 runs at an average of 38.30 and a strike rate of 137.45. He has also registered 24 fifties in the league.

In the ongoing IPL 2025 season, Dhoni has scored 196 runs from 13 innings at an average of 24.50, which includes 12 sixes.


T20I Career Highlights

Dhoni represented India in 98 T20 Internationals, scoring 1,617 runs at an average of 37.6 and a strike rate of 126.13. He hit two fifties and 52 sixes in the format.

He announced his retirement from international cricket in 2020. Under his captaincy, India won the inaugural ICC T20 World Cup in 2007.


Recent Performance Against Rajasthan Royals

In a recent match against Rajasthan Royals, Dhoni walked in to bat with CSK struggling at 137/6. He managed to hit one six but couldn’t accelerate in the death overs, finishing with 16 runs off 17 balls. He was dismissed in the final over.

Despite his subdued performance, CSK posted a competitive total of 187/8, thanks to contributions from Ayush Mhatre (43 off 20), Dewald Brevis (42 off 25), and Shivam Dube (39 off 32).
