Pakistan defeats Bangladesh to end their losing streak in the World Cup.
Pakistan defeated Bangladesh in Kolkata to snap a four-match losing streak in the 2023 ICC Cricket World Cup.
To assert their dominance, the Men in Green successfully chased down 205 in 32.3 overs. With a 128-run opening stand, Abdullah Shafique and Fakhar Zaman stamped their authority.
Earlier, Pakistan’s Shaheen Afridi and Mohammad Wasim Jr each took three wickets.

Examining the match summary
After electing to bat, Bangladesh was reduced to 38/3. Shaheen’s brilliant new-ball spell was extremely effective.
Litton Das (45) and Mahmudullah (56) led Bangladesh to 100 points, but their partnership was short-lived.
Shakib Al Hasan hit a crucial 43 before Bangladesh was dismissed for 204.
Shafique and Zaman dominated the run-chase for Pakistan. They triumphed by seven wickets.

Despite losing Shafique after the 100-run mark, he did not stop scoring. The former hit a 74-ball 81 with three fours and seven sixes.

Shafique has been in fantastic form in the current tournament. Shafique held one end up and rotated the strike while Zaman played his natural game.
He hit his fourth 50-plus score of the tournament, amassing 332 runs in six matches  impressive 55.33 average.
Shafique hit a 69-ball 68.

Mahmudullah scores his 28th ODI century.
When the others failed to deliver, Mahmudullah proved his worth.

After being reduced to 23/3, he and Litton took Bangladesh past 100.

The former then batted alongside skipper Shakib for a while. Mahmudullah hit a 70-ball 56 with 6 fours and 1 six. He finished with his second 50-plus score of WC 2023.

Mahmudullah has 5,294 runs at 36.26 in 227 ODIs.
