In the meantime, the Indian team achieved their fifth Women’s Test century.
In a home Women’s Test, this is also India’s highest team total to date.
The Indian woman’s second-fastest half-century in the Test
In Test cricket, Satheesh’s first half-century is currently the second-fastest by an Indian woman.
In 49 balls, the 24-year-old sprinted to the mark. Sangita Dabir, who scored a 40-ball fifty against England in 1995, is currently the only player ahead of her.
With 13 boundaries in his 69-ball knock, Satheesh finished with a score of 76.
In the second innings of India’s match, she did not come to bat.
Rodrigues hits 50 on his Test debut.
Rodrigues, a fellow rookie, collaborated with Satheesh and achieved an impressive fifty runs.
Rodrigues took a secondary role to Satheesh, collecting the occasional boundary while being the attacker.
Later, the latter struck gold, hitting 68 off 99 balls with 11 fours. It was her first-ever fifty in a Test match.
In her second outing, Rodrigues made a quick-fire 29-ball 27 to contribute.
