Glenn Maxwell smashes records and sets a joint fastest T20I century for Australia.
In the third Twenty20 International in Guwahati, Australian batsman Glenn Maxwell destroyed the Indian bowling attack, just days after he struck an astonishing double-ton in the ICC Cricket World Cup.
With the right-hand batsman coming out swinging, Australia managed to chase down a massive 223 in the last over.
In T20Is, Maxwell’s 47-ball century tied the record for fastest for Australia. In addition, this was his fourth T20I ton.

Australia decided to field, and India collapsed to 24/2. But India made it past 80 thanks to Ruturaj Gaikwad and Suryakumar Yadav.
Sharing a stand that was over a century old, Tilak Varma joined Gaikwad. In the last five, India has scored 79 runs (222/3).
Travis Head got things going strong right away, propelling Australia over 60. Australia’s progress past 200 was led by Maxwell and Matthew Wade. In the last over, they chased 21 runs between them.

Maxwell stuns India with his onslaught

Australia’s joint-fastest T20I ton
Now, in T20Is, Maxwell holds the record for the second-fastest ton by an Australian batter. He tied Josh Inglis, his current teammate, and Aaron Finch.
Inglis scored three figures in as many balls during the opening Twenty20 International of the current series, while the former Australian captain crushed a 47-ball century against England in Southampton in 2013.
Remarkably, Maxwell achieved a ton of runs in 49 balls in 2016.

Tons shared most among T20I players
As previously stated, Maxwell now has four T20I tons, sharing the most with Rohit Sharma of India (4).
Each of Suryakumar Yadav, Colin Munro, Sabawoon Davizi, and Babar Azam has three tons in the format.
Remarkably, in T20I cricket, Finch is the only Australian player other than Maxwell to have scored a century or more. Throughout his career, he crushed two tons.

Additional noteworthy figures for Maxwell
Maxwell hit seven sixes in the thriller in Guwahati.
With 37 against India, he currently holds the record for most sixes for Australia against a rival in men’s T20Is. In this aspect, he outperformed Finch (35 against England).
Wade and Maxwell had an undefeated 91-run partnership that set up Australia’s victory. In a successful T20I chase, this is now the second-highest partnership for six wickets or less.
