Gautam Gambhir is named the team's mentor by KKR.
Kolkata Knight Riders, an Indian Premier League team, has appointed former captain Gautam Gambhir as a consultant.
He’ll be joining Chandrakant Pandit, the head coach, in the support staff role.
In the past, Gambhir led KKR to two IPL championships during their fruitful partnership.
Gambhir spent two seasons as the Lucknow Super Giants’ squad mentor before to this.

As a player and captain for KKR, Gambhir was indispensable. At 31.61, he still leads the team in scoring with 3,035 runs. In 2012 and 2014, Gambhir scored 27 fifties and contributed to the team’s IPL victories.
In 108 games as team captain, he won 61 and lost 46 (tie: 1). His victory percentage, according to ESPNcricinfo, was 56.48.
