Among the players to sign contracts for the first time are Abhishek Sharma, Nitish Reddy, and Harshit Rana.
After losing out on core contracts the previous season, Shreyas Iyer and Ishan Kishan are back on the list.
During the past few months, the former has been especially noteworthy.
The remarkable comeback and consistent performance of Shreyas Iyer Iyer has made a remarkable comeback despite being dropped from central contracts last year. In addition to winning the Ranji Trophy, the Irani Cup, and the SMAT in domestic cricket, he was captain of Kolkata Knight Riders when they won the IPL title in 2024. He returned to the ODI lineup this year during the England series, scoring 243 runs in five matches, including two fifties, to help India win the ICC Champions Trophy.
Focus on the player Abhishek Sharma:
inclusion of grade C In terms of the central contracts, Punjabi batter Abhishek Sharma has been assigned Grade C. He has been opening for Sunrisers Hyderabad in the IPL and India in T20Is. A one-crore annual retainership is guaranteed by this grade. As per BCCI’s standard policy, “athletes who meet the criteria of playing a minimum of three Tests or eight ODIs or 10 T20Is within the specified period will automatically be included in Grade C on a pro-rata basis.”
Additions to the team recipients of BCCI’s
central contracts for the first time Other first-time recipients of BCCI’s central contracts include Dhruv Jurel, Sarafraz Khan, Nitish Reddy, Akash Deep, Varun Chakaravarthy, and Harshit Rana. After not being offered the 2024–25 contract, Kishan has also been added back to the list, as previously mentioned. However, since November 2023, he has not participated in a single international match. In contrast, veterans Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, Jasprit Bumrah, and Ravindra Jadeja continue to receive A+ grades.
Retention
The A+ retention rates of Rohit, Virat, and Jadeja It is important to note that Jadeja, Virat, and Rohit have all retired from T20Is. However, their time in the A+ category continues. India’s recent white-ball championship victories (2024 T20 WC and 2025 CT) were made possible by the trio. Bumrah, the other player on the A+ list, is arguably the best all-format bowler currently available. Rishabh Pant has been elevated from category B to category A, while India’s T20I captain Suryakumar Yadav is ranked in Grade B.
